You are invited to become a part of the operation of any of KSU’s student media organizations. Previous experience is helpful, but not required. Any KSU student is eligible for membership. There are no dues; in fact, almost all positions receive some payment (you must have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to receive a stipend). You may also receive academic credit.
(SUMMER MONTHS: Please note that KSU Student Media are not as active and publish less (if at all) over the summer. Between May & July you may have to wait longer for a response. Please be patient – you will be contacted when the students return.)
Joining The Sentinel, Share, Talon or the New Media Group is a three-step process (sorry; we’ll try to make it as painless as possible):
1. Complete a Student Media Application. Quick & easy.
2. Read & submit the New Staff Agreement & Ethics Form.
3.Complete & return a Vendor Registration Form(complete this step AFTER you are hired). Only new staff need to complete this step, and you’ll only have to do this once while at KSU. Print, complete and return the Vendor Registration Form and other required info to Ms. Drivick’s office (student center 274) in the Department of Student Life.
Student Media Editor in Chief/Management Applications are accepted in November & April for the following summer/fall and spring terms. Remember to visit this page in April if you are interested in leading a KSU student media organization.
